🎵 U2, A.R Rahman – Ahimsa

Here is the new U2 song

Ahimsa is a single from the Irish musical group U2 and the Indian composer A. R. Rahman, published November 22, 2019.

In September 2019, Rahman and the Irish group had a meeting in New York, at the Electric Lady Studios, to trace the guidelines of the musical project that led to the birth of the musical piece. On the meaning of the song, Rahman, in an interview with the Indian edition of Rolling Stone, stated that it originates from the meaning of the Sanskrit word ahimsa, which can be summarized in non-violence. The U2 frontman, Bono, on this track recalled how the commitment of the Irish group to respect human rights is a key element of their work and how Martin Luther King was a witness for them. Moreover, Martin Luther King himself saw an example in Gandhi.

The song begins and ends with a female choir composed of Raheema and Khatija, Rahman’s daughters, who sing verses extracted from the book Tirukkural, written in Tamil

Ahimsa (Sanskrit: अहिंसा; IAST: ahiṃsā, Pāli: avihiṃsā) is term meaning “not to injure”, derived from the Sanskrit root hiṃs – to strike (hiṃsā is injury or harm, a-hiṃsā is the opposite of this, i.e. cause no injury, do no harm). Ahimsa is also referred to as nonviolence, and is one of the cardinal virtues and an important ethical and mystical tenet of Jainism, Hinduism, and Buddhism. It can involve many complex and multidimensional concepts, inspired by the premise that all living beings have the spark of the divine spiritual energy (prana), and relationships of Karma, and that to needlessly oppress any being is to hurt oneself, and all beings, in ways that can be obvious or mysterious. Strongly inspired by Hindu and Jain concepts of ahimsa, Mahatma Gandhi popularized many of its strategies worldwide, among people of many diverse traditions.

I’ll meet you where the sky is torn
I’ll meet you in the end
I’ll meet you before the world was born
When we had not a care

This is an invitation
To a high location
From someone who wants to be loved
This is a meditation
On your radio station
If you like it, you can sing along

I’ll meet you where there is no weeping
Your tears are now a stream
I’ll meet you where there is no sleeping
But we wake up to dream

This is an invitation
To a high location
From someone who wants to be loved
This is a meditation

Ahimsa

Ahimsa

Ci vediamo dove non si piange
Le tue lacrime sono ora un flusso
Ci vediamo dove non si dorme
Ma ci svegliamo per sognare

Questo è un invito
Ad essere all’altezza
Di qualcuno che vuole essere amato
Questa è una meditazione
Sulla tua stazione radio
Se ti piace, possiamo cantare insieme

Welcome December

Illustration of Schulz [Peanuts]

How many of you will spend Christmas away from your family? Many of you will spend it with your relatives. Very few instead away from home. The saying says: “At Christmas with your (parents) and at Easter with the people you want”.

When December starts the countdown for Christmas and New Year’s event starts automatically.

The days are short and the sky darkens early. The cold forces us to wear sweaters and coats, and when we walk around the shops, the windows are gorgeous.

I have always wanted to spend a Christmas away from home, and therefore far from everything that characterizes the Christmas holidays: money, gifts, consumerism, food etc …

Christmas is increasingly synonymous with consumerism but I don’t know if it is synonymous with happiness. I admire those people who volunteer on Christmas and later, delivering gifts on the streets or assisting Needy Children.

The best sites for free images

iconfinder_image-x-generic_118887
Often to write blog articles or even facebook posts we use images that we have found at first sight on the web, without asking ourselves whether it is permissible to use copyrighted material. The rule would be that any published content, especially photos involving newspaper articles and graphic designs, should be used with the author’s consent. Obviously this rule does not respect anyone but there is a solution that can reach us: there are many sites that have photo archives that can be used for free.
Here is the list of some of the best sites:
